1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all users of AmmoIQ, including the website, API, forum, blog comments, and all user-generated content. This policy supplements our Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not post, upload, or share content that includes any of the following:
- Instructions for illegal firearm modifications, including but not limited to auto-sears, unlicensed suppressors or silencers, and bump stocks where prohibited by law
- Facilitation of straw purchases or illegal firearms transfers
- Instructions for manufacturing illegal weapons or explosives
- Threats of violence or incitement to violence
- Doxxing or posting personal information of others without their consent
- Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory content
- Sexually explicit content
- Spam or unsolicited advertising
- Malware, phishing, or deceptive content
- Content that violates any applicable federal, state, or local law
3. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are prohibited on AmmoIQ:
- Person-to-person sales of firearms, ammunition, or accessories
- Posting export-controlled technical data (e.g., ITAR-regulated information)
- Scraping, crawling, or automated data extraction without prior written permission from AmmoIQ
- Reverse engineering the Service or ballistics engine
- Circumventing security measures, rate limits, or access controls
- Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions
- Impersonating other users, AmmoIQ staff, or law enforcement
- Using the Service to facilitate any illegal activity
4. Forum and Community Rules
When participating in forums, blog comments, and other community features, you agree to:
- Stay on topic within the appropriate forum categories
- Provide accurate information and clearly label opinions versus facts
- Engage respectfully — no personal attacks (disagree with the idea, not the person)
- Refrain from self-promotion or commercial solicitation without permission from AmmoIQ
- Not repost copyrighted content (link to the original source instead)
- Use the English language for all posts and comments (for moderation purposes)
5. API Usage Rules
If you access the AmmoIQ API, you agree to the following additional rules:
- Respect published rate limits — excessive requests may result in throttling or key revocation
- Do not resell or redistribute data obtained through the API
- Do not use API access to build competing services or products
- Do not expose API keys in client-side code or public repositories
- Automated access must identify itself with a descriptive User-Agent header
- API access is available to Premium subscribers only; sharing API keys with non-subscribers is prohibited
6. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this policy may result in one or more of the following actions:
- Content removal: Offending content may be hidden or deleted without notice
- Forum bans: Temporary or permanent bans from community features, with the reason provided to the user
- Account suspension or termination: For severe or repeated violations, your account may be suspended or permanently terminated
- API key revocation: API access may be revoked for API abuse or terms violations
- Law enforcement referral: Illegal activity may be reported to the appropriate authorities
